Bass to Tenor!

Some of you may have noticed that our Bass Soloist for the Bach B minor mass has changed. We welcome Che Seabourne as our bass soloist as interestingly, Thomas Guthrie, who was engaged and has featured as Bass Soloist with us previously, has withdrawn from the role because he is now singing Tenor.

Obviously we wish him well in these 'higher' endeavours and we may well welcome him as a Tenor soloist in the future.

As a confirmed bass whose voice, year by year, seems to be getting lower rather than higher, to become a tenor would need a miracle equivalent to feeding 5000. Of course, Basses all know that Tenors always get the good parts and usually, in opera, get the women too, perhaps Thomas was just fed up of missing out!
